Student Maisie Brown 18yrs old from Jackson organized a peaceful protest outside the Governors Mansion. She said there voices would be heard and her face would be seen- change is coming. The protest was in honor of George Floyd, another Black man killed by the knees and hands of 4 former Minneapolis Minnesota police officers. The protestors are demanding an end to police brutality and systematic racism among other issues in Mississippi and America. Protests have broken out around the world in solidarity to end white supremacy and police brutality after the death of Georg Floyd.
The National Black Panthers Party from Tupelo Mississippi showed up outside the Governors mansion in the shadow of the State Capitol to protest police brutality. The National Black Panthers Party was their to show their support for change in Mississippi, to end systemic racism and police brutality. The Panthers showed up at the end of a peaceful protest organized by 18yr old student Maisie Brown.
