50th Anniversary of Meredith "March Against Fear"
6/7/16 Jackson,MS. Civil Rights icon James Meredith is pictured reading about himself on the 50th Anniversary of his " March Against Fear" and 50 years to the day he was shot. Meredith set out from Memphis TN on June 6 1966, to raise awareness for Equal rights and to get the African American community to register to vote. Meredith was shot on the second day of his walk June 7, 1966 in Hernando Mississippi. Meredith is pictured autographing a copy of the newspaper with the coverage of the 50th Anniversary of his walk.
